Abbott's Science Programmes for School Children

Abbott are big supporters of Ireland's next generation of scientists through its Family Science programme and Operation Discovery programmes for primary and secondary school children respectively. These programmes developed by the Abbott Fund, see Abbott employees engage students through hands on experiences in science. To date, nearly 300 Abbott volunteers have reached more than 2,000 students, parents and teachers across Ireland.

Speaking at a special Business in the Community breakfast to launch National CSR Week is Katherine Pickus, Divisional Vice President, Global Citizenship and Policy at Abbott. Katherine was in Dublin to officially launch Abbott's first Corporate Citizenship Report for Ireland.

Abbott won the Best International CSR Programme Award from Chambers Ireland Corporate Social Responsibility Awards. The Tanzania Laboratory Mentorship programme saw three Abbott Ireland employees volunteer in Tanzania for eight weeks, training 60 local staff in the modernised laboratories.
