Abbott collaborates with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland to improve our environmental stewardship. Abbott's nutritional facility in Cootehill recycles 100 percent of water used in, and steam generated from, the manufacturing process.

Abbott are big supporters of Ireland's next generation of scientists through its Family Science programme and Operation Discovery programmes for primary and secondary school children respectively. These programmes developed by the Abbott Fund, see Abbott employees engage students through hands on experiences in science. To date, nearly 300 Abbott volunteers have reached more than 2,000 students, parents and teachers across Ireland.

It has commercial operations in Dublin and shared services in Dublin and Westport. Abbott serves the Irish market with a diverse range of health care products including diagnostics, medical devices, nutritionals and branded generic pharmaceuticals.
